Good point about pride. It truly is like an abusive relationship to continue to believe liars. No reasonable person can argue for the honesty of government or corporate media institutions.

Yep, their track record is so bad, if they said the sun rose in the east today, not sure I would believe them.

Its not just corporation or government that have this issue...the individual voter in this country has a real bad case of pride, getting in the way of doing the right thing.

Think about all of those low information voters who have voted for the same, ineffective political crap-pot, for decades. These voters have been sold a bill of goods which comes promised every election cycle. Once the election is over, these promises, go undelivered...yet, the voters continue to double down on their ignorant choices, instead of putting the effort to find a better one. No effort to vet the politician leads to these abominable records of promises and nothing to show for them...Why?

People are lazy...and become lazier. They don't think . Thinking requires questions and checking if what you believe to be true, really is. Its a lot easier to feel your way around a situation than it is to logically think it through. Its why voters make the same emotional vote, regardless of the facts presented by reality.

Only now do we see some opening their eyes...only because their bad decisions, poor voting record for those with no accountability, and the fact its affecting them directly, is forcing them to reckon with their past misgivings.

Carlin might have said it best....think about how dumb the average person is, and then realize 1/2 the people are dumber than that.
